Network Administrator

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related field
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and forward
• Experience with Cisco switches and routers
• Professional certification, such as CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, and configure computer networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware components
• Regularly perform maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and system optimizations
• Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches.
• Monitor network activity for security incidents and respond to security breaches promptly
• Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and performance issues
• Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff for network-related problems.
• Utilize network monitoring tools to track the performance and availability of network systems
• Proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact network performance
• Implement and manage data backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure the security and integrity of network resources.
• Manage user authentication and authorization processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
• Create documentation for troubleshooting guides and network policies
• Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations to meet the evolving needs of the organization
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the network
• Work closely with other IT professionals, including system administrators, security analysts, and helpdesk staff, to ensure seamless integration of network components
