A/C Chiller Mechanic

Qualifications

• Required: FIVE-STAR hotel experience in a similar role is a must.
• Must holds a relevant HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) certification or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution or technical school.
• Should have several years of experience in servicing and maintaining A/C chillers and HVAC systems, preferably in a commercial or hotel setting.
• In-depth knowledge of A/C chillers, refrigeration systems, and HVAC equipment. This includes
  understanding the principles of chiller operation, refrigerants, and electrical systems.
• The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC problems and chiller malfunctions is crucial.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and chemicals.
• Precision and attention to detail are vital when working with intricate A/C systems to ensure they
  function efficiently.
• Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with other hotel staff and supervisors and providing clear explanations to non-technical personnel.
• The role may involve lifting heavy equipment, climbing, and working in confined spaces, so physical fitness is important.
• Should have a customer service-oriented approach and be courteous when interacting with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on A/C chillers and HVAC systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. This involves cleaning coils, changing filters, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting refrigerant levels.
• Diagnose the issue and make necessary repairs. This can involve replacing faulty components, such as compressors, valves, or motors.
• Handle refrigerants safely and perform tasks like charging and recovering refrigerants as needed for maintenance and repair work.
• Responsible for adjusting and fine-tuning control systems to maintain desired temperature and
  humidity levels throughout the hotel.
• Should be involved in optimizing A/C systems for energy efficiency to reduce operating costs while
  maintaining guest comfort.
• In the event of HVAC emergencies, such as system failures or leaks, they respond quickly to mitigate the issue and restore service.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work, including equipment logs and service reports
• Provide training and guidance to junior technicians or hotel staff on proper usage and maintenance of A/C systems.
• Ensure that all work is in compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
