Pastry Cook

As a Pastry Cook, you will be part of a team that crafts exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods. This is your chance to fuse your baking skills with the dynamic flavors of Australia.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as Pastry Cook, Baker or Pie Maker in a reputable bakery
• Experience in baking bread loaves, rolls, buns, cakes, biscuits and pastry goods
• Must be able to provide work references and evidence.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pastry techniques, including dough preparation, baking, decoration, and plating.
• Lage product range and experience in creating from scratch recipes.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and overall pastry quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-faced and high-pressure kitchen environment.
• Documents to support your visa application (passport, police clearances, employment evidences including reference letters, salary evidences such as pay slips or government contribution records, and school records)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Good English communication skills

Responsibilities:

Common tasks that you may have to perform include:

• Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
• Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
• Preparing pastry fillings
• Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
• Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
• Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
• Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
• Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
