Corrosion Engineer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corrosion monitoring and control.
  • NACE Internal Corrosion Specialist or Corrosion Specialist certification.
  • Holds API 510, API 570, AWS, RBI, Coating, and NDT certifications.
  • Familiar with international inspection codes/standards (ASTM, API, ASME, TEMA, NACE, ANSI).
  • Expertise in corrosion types, identification, monitoring, and mitigation.
  • Skilled in chemical inhibitors, cathodic protection, material selection, and coatings.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, assess, and analyze pipeline corrosion data and trends.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to monitor, inspect, and mitigate corrosion.
  • Evaluate corrosion inhibitor effectiveness and suggest corrective actions.
  • Conduct failure investigations and corrosion-related studies. Review mitigation and monitoring activities to identify system improvements.
  • Lead special studies to enhance corrosion control and facility operations.
  • Provide technical support for corrosion control design and construction.
  • Advise on maintenance and operation of corrosion-related activities.
  • Develop scopes of work and contract agreements.
  • Implement recommended actions from pipeline integrity plans.
  • Review design packages for new pipeline projects.
  • Conduct field trials for new chemicals and technologies.
  • Report corrosion activities to leadership and technical teams.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
  • Employment certificates
  • NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
  • PEOS certificate
