ESTIMATOR (CIVIL ENGINEER)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in cost estimation techniques, contract administration, and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Play a crucial role in construction projects by managing costs related to building and civil engineering projects.
- Conduct thorough cost estimation for materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to accurately assess costs.
- Source materials and subcontractor services at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards.
- Evaluate supplier bids and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms for the project.
- Assist in the preparation and review of contracts, including terms and conditions related to cost, schedule, and quality.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Implement cost control measures to monitor project expenditures against budgets.
- Identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts to keep stakeholders informed of project financial status.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize project designs for cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize cost-related risks and ensure project success.
