CATERING/SERVICE SUPERVISOR

Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Catering or Higher Secondary Level
• 2-3 years Supervisory experience in industrial /commercial catering
• Experienced and well versed in hygiene standards and health and safety regulation
• Good planning and leadership skills with good written and oral communication skills
• Creative and able to work under pressure
• Well organized, quick and efficient, while still being patient and careful.
• Good knowledge of spoken & written English
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall supervision of preparation and service of food and refreshments as well as cleanliness of kitchen and dining premises, to direct and oversee total day to day catering activities to include such duties as selecting and costing
• Supervise and provide support service to food preparation as defined by the catering service including any special dietary needs.
• Propose & Discuss menus within the guidelines issued; to arrange menu planning and its implementation in coordination with Executive Chef.
• Responsible for providing exact man days on day-to-day basis to executive chefs in order to plan the production.
• The checking and recording of all food received, quantities of ingredients used, and the number of meals produced and served.
• Responsible for arranging food display in an attractive manner and ready to provide practical support in the event arrangements.
• Responsible to arrange special nights and festivals such as sea food night, Mexican night, Eid special, Xmas parties, cultural events etc. as per guidelines
• Ensure no food is removed in an unauthorized manner from the premises; monitor the portion control as well.
• Carry out food lost control in a cost-effective manner as required.
• Ensure the food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times, food delivery outside the premises as per QHSE, HACCP guidelines issued, and all statutory notices are posted at all relevant points and that such notices are cons
• Carry out all clerical duties as required including supervision of cash/sales related duties.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, Mess Halls its equipment and surround.
• Ensure the security of the kitchen; Mess Halls associated stores and surround.
• Report the faults in kitchen equipments and request necessary day to day maintenance.
• Ensure the quality of the product and service provided and to monitor temperature control of kitchen freezers as per guidelines.
