Access Network Engineer
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Driving License
- With relevant technical field to HND level or higher
- At least 2 years relevant experience in Satellite earth station management and operational duties, covering spectrum analyser use, L band modems, IF and up/down conversion.
- Have a strong electrical and mechanical background through job experience & training of AC & -48V DC power systems.
- Have proven track record of system design, installation and maintenance practices.
- Have the ability to work autonomously on projects and day to day
- Good problem-solving techniques in electromechanical/electronics
- Have experience in mentoring and developing junior members of staff
- Experience in radio or fibre optic systems
- Ability to fault find to a component level
- Qualifications or experience in copper and fibre installation & technologies, desirable
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word and Excel
Job Description:
- Contribute to all aspects of the Transmission and Provisioning operations on a day to day basis
- Undertake the day to day requirements of the Earth Station operations, maintaining equipment and responding to faults as required
- Ensure the Company’s strategies, plans and policies are implemented
- Ensures Company interests are protected and optimised
- Ensure up to date operational and health & safety practice and procedures exist, are implemented, and adhered to by the team
- Assist in producing Capex business cases when required
- Dissemination of information and any in house training of team members in new technologies being implemented
- Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time having regard to the nature of the post
- Be aware of the commercial requirements of the company and this group in particular
- At all times safeguard the company from legal action of to bring the company in to disrepute
