WELDER (TIG SS)

Qualifications:

• Must hold a recognized Welding Certificate.
• Demonstrated 6G TIG/GTAW pipe welding experience is essential.
• Demonstrated stainless-steel pipe welding experience is essential.
• Demonstrated duplex stainless-steel pipe welding experience is essential.
• Strong practical knowledge of stainless and duplex pipe preparation, fit-up and welding requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, piping isometrics, fabrication drawings and welding procedures.
• Knowledge of WPS requirements, including correct consumables, amperage, heat input and pre-heat/interpass controls
• Previous records of successfully passed welder qualifications are preferred.
• Experience with MMAW, FCAW, MIG and SAW processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Perform 6G TIG/GTAW pipe welding on stainless-steel and duplex stainless-steel piping, in accordance with approved welding procedures, specifications and applicable standards.
• Perform high-quality root, fill and cap welding on stainless and duplex pipe systems as required.
• Interpret engineering drawings, piping isometrics, detailed fabrication drawings, specifications and welding procedures.
• Undertake and pass all necessary weld qualifications for the required welding processes and materials.
• Prepare pipe joints for welding, including cleaning, grinding, bevel preparation and removal/restoration of tack welds
• Maintain correct welding consumables, feeds, amperages, pre-heat/interpass requirements and other welding parameters in accordance with the applicable WPS.
• Apply appropriate welding practices for stainless and duplex materials, including contamination control and correct handling of consumables and materials.
• Perform MMAW, FCAW, MIG and SAW welding were required for other fabrication activities.
• Conduct visual inspection and clean-up between weld runs and upon completion of each weld.
• Perform gouging operations where required.
• Follow applicable quality-control, weld-identification and inspection procedures.
• Use welding machines, hand tools, gantry cranes and approved lifting equipment as required.
• Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship, quality and productivity.
