Sawaco Water Desalination is seeking a highly skilled Water Tank Worker (Senior Mechanical Technician) to support the operation and maintenance of reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant equipment in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining critical mechanical systems, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring the reliable operation of desalination plant equipment.

Water Tank Worker (Senior Mechanical Technician)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plants.
• At least 3 years of specialized experience in:
  • Multistage centrifugal pumps (800+ psi)
  • Turbocharger and PX (Pressure Exchanger) systems
  • Membrane pressure vessel maintenance
• Proven experience in:
  • Mechanical seal replacements (more than 50 completed replacements)
  • Precision alignment with tolerances of 0.05 mm or better
  • Emergency equipment breakdown response and troubleshooting
• Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, rotating equipment, and desalination plant systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment in reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plants.
• Maintain and service multistage centrifugal pumps operating at pressures exceeding 800 psi.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair turbocharger and pressure exchanger (PX) energy recovery systems.
• Carry out maintenance and servicing of membrane pressure vessels and related equipment.
• Perform mechanical seal replacement, precision shaft alignment, and equipment calibration in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency corrective maintenance to minimize plant downtime.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, maintenance standards, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuous and efficient plant operation.
