Structural Fabricator

An ideal candidate must be able to work from engineering drawings and specifications to create custom metal pieces and components. In this role, you will use a variety of metal working tools and machinery to cut, shape, a assemble metal parts, ensuring that each piece meets high standards for quality and accuracy. Qualifications:

To qualify for this job you must have:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Metal Fabricator
•  GTAW / GMAW / FCAW welding experience.
• 10-20 mm steel fabrication experience
• Experience in the following industries: automotive, steel mill, industrial or heavy fabrication
• Technical or formal qualifications
• TESDA NC II Certificate (Welding)
• Documents to support your visa application (passport, police clearances, employment evidences including reference letters, salary evidences such as pay slips or government contribution records, and school records)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Good English communication skills

Responsibilities:

Some common task that you may have to perform include:

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock and plates
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
