Stone Cutting / CNC Operator & Programmer

Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional experience in stone cutting and processing.
  • Proven experience operating CNC machines used for stone cutting and processing.
  • Experience operating bridge saws or similar stone-cutting equipment.
  • Proven CNC machine programming experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software for preparing drawings and programs for CNC machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and production specifications.
  • Good understanding of stone-cutting, machining, and processing techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in machine setup, programming, measurements, and finished products.
  • At least secondary/high school education is preferred.
  • Experience in stone processing, construction, or similar manufacturing industries is an advantage.
  • Category B driver’s license is preferred.
  • Forklift license is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling stone materials and performing machine-related production work.
  • Ability to safely operate industrial machinery and follow workplace safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC machines used for stone cutting, shaping, drilling, and processing.
  • Operate bridge saws and other specialized stone-cutting equipment.
  • Set up CNC machines and cutting equipment according to production requirements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, layouts, and production specifications.
  • Prepare and modify CNC programs based on technical drawings and required product dimensions.
  • Program CNC machines for accurate cutting, drilling, shaping, profiling, and other stone-processing operations.
  • Use AutoCAD or similar software to prepare drawings, layouts, and CNC programs.
  • Input, verify, and adjust machine parameters to achieve accurate processing results.
  • Measure and position stone materials correctly before machine operation.
  • Process natural stone, engineered stone, and other materials according to project and production specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments when necessary to maintain accuracy and quality.
  • Perform test cuts and inspect finished products for dimensions, shape, surface finish, and overall quality.
  • Identify cutting, programming, or machine-operation problems and make appropriate corrections.
  • Conduct routine checks of CNC machines, bridge saws, tools, and related equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance requirements, or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Ensure proper handling and positioning of heavy stone materials during cutting and processing.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe machine and production areas.
  • Properly clean and maintain CNC machines, cutting tools, and other equipment.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Minimize material waste through accurate measurements, cutting plans, programming, and machine operation.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, stone processors, production workers, and other team members to meet production schedules.
  • Perform other CNC operation, programming, stone cutting, and processing duties as assigned.
