Sommelier / Wine Specialist
Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Sommelier or possess formal wine training.
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in wine service, hospitality, or beverage management.
- Candidates must hold a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in:
- Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management
- Hospitality/Tourism Management Or similar fields
- Strong wine knowledge and professional wine service experience.
- Experienced in wine inventory management and beverage cost control.
- Excellent guest engagement, communication, and customer service skills.
- Knowledgeable in wine pairing, wine regions, vintages, and beverage presentation.
- Strong leadership and staff training abilities.
- Ability to work in luxury hotels, resorts, or fine dining environments.
- Professional appearance, excellent interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert wine recommendations and personalized beverage service to guests.
- Curate and maintain wine lists according to restaurant and resort standards.
- Assist guests with wine pairing selections to enhance dining experiences.
- Conduct wine presentations, tastings, and beverage promotions professionally.
- Monitor wine inventory levels, storage conditions, and stock rotation procedures.
- Manage beverage cost control and ensure proper inventory documentation.
- Train and mentor restaurant and bar staff on wine knowledge, service techniques, and beverage standards.
- Coordinate with chefs, restaurant managers, and hospitality teams regarding menu and wine pairing updates.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, beverage handling, and hospitality service standards.
- Maintain exceptional guest service and contribute to the luxury dining experience of the resort.
