Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Glazier is required.
- Proven experience handling both machine and manual glass cutting.
- Ability to operate glass cutting lines effectively and efficiently.
- Experience operating RPS and ASM in both manual and automatic modes.
- Ability to operate cranes manually and automatically for safe handling and movement of glass stock.
- Strong knowledge of glass cutting processes, equipment operation, material handling, and production requirements.
- Ability to produce quality products according to schedule while optimizing cutting jobs and minimizing material waste.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of glaziers handling machine and manual glass cutting.
- Ability to allocate work, provide technical guidance, and monitor team performance.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring, cutting, handling, and inspecting glass.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment and meet scheduled targets.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to glass cutting equipment and production processes.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures, particularly safe glass handling and machinery operation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- IELTS passer with a minimum score of 5.0 in each category (Reading, Speaking, Listening, and Writing) is required.
- An IELTS band score above 5.0 is an advantage.
- Reliable, responsible, safety-conscious, and capable of taking leadership responsibility in a production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate glass cutting lines effectively and efficiently to meet daily production requirements.
- Perform both manual and automated operations of glass cutting lines and related machinery.
- Operate RPS and ASM equipment in both manual and automatic modes as required.
- Operate cranes manually and automatically to safely bring glass stock and materials into the production area.
- Handle glass sheets and stock carefully to prevent damage, breakage, and material waste.
- Set up and operate cutting equipment according to production requirements and approved operating procedures.
- Monitor cutting operations to ensure accurate dimensions, proper specifications, and consistent product quality.
- Produce quality glass products according to scheduled production requirements.
- Optimize cutting jobs to maximize material utilization and minimize glass waste.
- Review job requirements and production schedules to determine appropriate cutting methods and priorities.
- Inspect cut glass for accuracy, quality, defects, chips, cracks, and other imperfections.
- Make necessary adjustments to cutting equipment and processes to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot basic operational issues involving cutting lines, RPS, ASM, cranes, and related equipment.
- Follow established procedures for machine operation, glass handling, material movement, and workplace safety.
- Ensure proper use and handling of tools, machinery, lifting equipment, and other production equipment.
- Lead and supervise a team of glaziers performing both machine and manual glass cutting activities.
- Allocate tasks to team members according to production requirements, skills, and workload.
- Provide guidance and technical support to glaziers to ensure correct and efficient cutting practices.
- Monitor team performance and ensure assigned production targets and schedules are achieved.
- Train or assist team members in safe and effective operation of glass cutting machinery and manual cutting processes.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other production personnel regarding job priorities, material requirements, and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace safety procedures.
- Follow all applicable occupational health and safety requirements, including safe glass handling and lifting practices.
- Report equipment defects, production issues, material shortages, and safety concerns to management.
- Perform other duties related to glass cutting, glazing, production, and team leadership as assigned.
