SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS & SECURITY TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in communications, security systems, or a related technical field.
- Must be a Bachelor’s degree graduate.
- Knowledge and practical experience in:
- CCTV surveillance systems
- Access control systems
- Alarm systems
- Structured cabling
- Fiber-optic systems
- Computer networks
- MATV systems
- Television antennas
- Starlink equipment
- Audio-visual systems
- Technical skills in structured cabling, fiber termination, network troubleshooting, security programming, system testing, and certification.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to obtain the following qualifications and certifications in Western Australia:
- Open Cabling Registration
- WA Security Installer License
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Working at Heights Certification
- White Card (Construction Induction Training)
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems and security cameras.
- Install and service access control systems, alarm systems, and associated security equipment.
- Perform structured cabling installations, including copper cabling and fiber-optic systems.
- Carry out fiber-optic termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and related communication equipment.
- Install and maintain MATV systems, television antennas, and Starlink equipment.
- Install, integrate, and maintain audio-visual systems.
- Program and configure security systems according to project specifications.
- Diagnose technical faults and perform repairs on communications, networking, and security installations.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, certification, and quality inspections.
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications.
- Ensure installations comply with applicable technical standards, licensing requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other technicians to complete installation and maintenance projects.
