SCAFFOLDER

Qualifications:

• Preferably not more than 40 years old.
• Previous work experience as a Scaffolder is required.
• Previous work experience in Japan is preferred, particularly experience involving Japanese construction systems and advanced work methodologies.
• Candidates with multiple deployments to Japan are preferred.
• Familiarity with Japanese workplace systems, construction practices, and safety procedures is an advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Must be willing to take the IELTS or PTE examination.
• Physically fit and capable of performing scaffolding work, including climbing, lifting, carrying, and working at heights.
• Strong understanding of scaffolding safety, proper assembly, inspection, modification, and dismantling procedures.
• Able to follow technical instructions, safety procedures, and supervisor directions accurately.
• Strong teamwork, reliability, discipline, and attention to safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and install scaffolding structures according to approved plans, specifications, and site requirements.
• Erect scaffolding safely and securely for construction, maintenance, repair, and industrial work.
• Inspect scaffolding components before and during installation to ensure they are safe and suitable for use.
• Install platforms, guardrails, ladders, braces, supports, and other scaffolding components correctly.
• Modify, extend, or reposition scaffolding structures as project requirements change.
• Dismantle scaffolding safely and systematically after completion of work.
• Ensure scaffolding is properly secured, level, stable, and capable of supporting required loads.
• Follow site-specific scaffolding procedures, safety regulations, and work instructions.
• Conduct routine inspections and report damaged, defective, or unsafe scaffolding components.
• Maintain proper access and safe working platforms for construction workers and other site personnel.
• Handle scaffold tubes, fittings, boards, platforms, frames, and related equipment safely.
• Use appropriate hand tools and scaffolding equipment correctly.
• Work from heights while following required fall-protection and personal safety procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors, construction workers, tradespeople, and other site personnel to meet project requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store scaffolding materials and equipment.
• Follow New Zealand workplace health and safety requirements and site rules.
• Apply appropriate work practices learned from previous overseas experience, including Japanese construction systems and methodologies where applicable.
• Perform other scaffolding and site duties assigned by the supervisor or project management.
