RIGGER

The Rigger plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient lifting and positioning of heavy loads in construction, manufacturing, and other industrial settings. Working closely with the Crane Operator, the Rigger is responsible for preparing and securing loads for lifting operations according to established safety protocols and lifting plans.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in rigging and lifting operations.
• Preferably holds a TESDA Certificate or equivalent training in Rigging.
• Proficiency in creating lifting plans and understanding load calculations.
• Familiarity with various rigging accessories and equipment used in lifting operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to rigging and lifting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Crane Operator:
  • Collaborate with the Crane Operator to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
  • Follow instructions and signals from the Crane Operator during lifting and positioning tasks.
• Lifting Plan Preparation:
  • Participate in the development of lifting plans based on load requirements and site conditions.
  • Calculate load weights, determine rigging configurations, and select appropriate lifting accessories.
• Load Preparation and Securing:
  • Inspect loads to ensure they are properly prepared and secured for lifting.
  • Attach rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, and hooks according to the lifting plan.
• Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety regulations and standards while performing rigging and lifting activities.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging equipment and report any defects or issues.
• Risk Assessment:
  • Identify potential hazards and risks associated with lifting operations and take appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  • Communicate safety concerns to the Crane Operator and other team members.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Maintain rigging equipment in good condition by cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine inspections.
  • Report any equipment damage or malfunction for repairs or replacement.
• Documentation:
  • Keep accurate records of lifting operations, including lifting plans, load calculations, and safety inspections.
  • Document any incidents or near misses and report them to the appropriate personnel.
