Process Safety Engineer

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
• For the Engineer position, 10–15 years of experience in the process industry is required.
• For Senior Engineer and Lead positions, at least 10 years of process safety and applicable industry experience is required.
• Soda ash industry experience is preferred.
• Membership, certification, or professional qualification from internationally recognized process safety or safety organizations is required or preferred, as applicable to the position. Examples provided by the employer include:
  • CCPSC – AIChE (United States)
  • Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • ISO-related safety qualifications
  • Functional Safety (FS)
  • TÜV certifications
  • OSHA-related qualifications
  • Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE)
  • NFPA and HAZOP-related qualifications
• An internationally recognized Level 6 qualification is required or preferred.
• NEBOSH, BSC, CSP, or CRSP qualifications are also mentioned by the employer.
• Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Identify appropriate equipment installation requirements and provide technical safety recommendations.
• Develop and implement process safety techniques and procedures based on project requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Regularly review reports related to process safety, process operations, and equipment reliability.
• Evaluate operational and reliability reports and recommend suitable practices to improve safe and reliable plant operations.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to promote process safety and ensure consistent implementation of safety requirements.
• Support the application of recognized process safety standards and practices in plant operations.
• Contribute to hazard prevention and risk reduction initiatives within the process industry.
