Polypropylene Thermoforming Machine Operator

Qualifications:

• At least a high school graduate or holder of a High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of working experience is required.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Thermoforming Machine Operator or in related manufacturing work is preferred.
• Proven experience operating thermoforming machinery, preferably for polypropylene or similar plastic materials.
• Successfully completed all applicable requirements from the Thermoforming Operator Check Sheet.
• Strong knowledge of thermoforming machine operation, setup, adjustment, and production processes.
• Ability to perform general to advanced machine maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic machine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Ability to identify machine abnormalities and take appropriate corrective action.
• Good understanding of quality-control procedures and product inspection.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent product quality.
• Ability to read and follow machine operating instructions, technical procedures, and production specifications.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Physically fit and capable of performing machine operation, material handling, and maintenance duties.
• Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a production team.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate polypropylene thermoforming machines according to production specifications and operating procedures.
• Prepare machines, tooling, materials, and production equipment before starting operations.
• Load and position polypropylene raw materials correctly for thermoforming production.
• Monitor machine operation, production cycles, temperatures, pressure, forming conditions, and other operating parameters.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain consistent production output and product quality.
• Monitor the forming process and ensure trays are produced according to required dimensions, shape, thickness, and appearance.
• Conduct regular inspections of finished products to identify defects, deformation, improper forming, or other quality issues.
• Perform quality checks in accordance with established production and inspection procedures.
• Successfully complete and comply with all requirements specified in the Thermoforming Operator Check Sheet.
• Record production information, inspection results, machine conditions, and other required operating data.
• Perform general machine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and routine servicing.
• Carry out advanced machine maintenance tasks within the operator’s authorized level of responsibility.
• Troubleshoot machine problems and identify the possible causes of operational or production issues.
• Report major equipment malfunctions and maintenance requirements to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Assist maintenance technicians with machine repair, component replacement, calibration, and servicing when required.
• Monitor machine performance and take appropriate action to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
• Maintain proper material handling procedures and minimize production waste.
• Follow production schedules and meet required production, efficiency, and quality targets.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around thermoforming equipment.
• Follow machine safety procedures, company policies, and applicable workplace safety standards.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating or maintaining machinery.
• Coordinate with production, quality-control, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
• Perform other thermoforming machine operation, maintenance, and production duties assigned by management.
