Yayasan Pendidikan Singapura Semarang is seeking an experienced and dedicated Physics Teacher to provide high-quality physics instruction in an international school environment in Indonesia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Physics curriculum, planning lessons, assessing student progress, preparing learners for Cambridge examinations, and supporting their academic, social, and behavioral development.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching experience.
• Bachelor’s / College Degree in Education, Teaching, Training, Physics, Physics Education, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree specifically in Physics, Physics Education, or a related discipline is required.
• Strong knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Physics curricula.
• Proven experience preparing students for Cambridge examinations.
• Experience using Cambridge past papers and examination materials to prepare students for assessments.
• Strong knowledge of Physics concepts, theories, calculations, laboratory work, and practical applications appropriate to IGCSE and A Level students.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Ability to develop structured lesson plans and effectively manage yearly, weekly, and daily teaching schedules.
• Ability to assess student performance accurately and provide constructive academic feedback.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, school administrators, parents, and other education professionals.
• Patient, supportive, motivating, and committed to student development.
• Experience working in an international school or Cambridge school is preferred.
• Familiarity with students with different learning abilities and special educational needs is an advantage.
• Willingness to participate in continuing professional development and adopt effective, evidence-based teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Review and understand the prescribed Physics curriculum, program requirements, scope and sequence, and expected learning outcomes.
• Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Physics curricula.
• Develop yearly, weekly, and daily teaching planners to ensure effective coverage of required learning materials.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and learning outcomes at the same academic level.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, laboratory activities, demonstrations, exercises, and other instructional resources.
• Teach Physics concepts, principles, theories, calculations, experiments, and practical applications using appropriate teaching strategies.
• Assess and evaluate students through classroom observation, classwork, homework, projects, examinations, practical activities, and other appropriate assessment methods.
• Prepare students for Cambridge examinations by using appropriate revision strategies, past papers, practice exercises, and examination techniques.
• Monitor individual student progress and identify areas requiring additional support or intervention.
• Provide appropriate academic guidance, feedback, remediation, and enrichment activities to help students achieve their learning goals.
• Support, motivate, and encourage students to participate actively in academic and school activities.
• Assist students in developing academically, socially, and behaviorally through varied and meaningful learning opportunities.
• Maintain effective classroom management and create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching approaches and learning activities to accommodate different abilities, learning styles, and individual student needs.
• Work with students who may require additional educational support or have special learning needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, academic performance, behavior, and areas requiring support.
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, parents, and other professionals involved in supporting students.
• Maintain accurate anecdotal records, assessment results, attendance information, student progress records, and other required documentation.
• Use the school’s designated record-keeping systems accurately and consistently.
• Research and apply effective teaching methodologies, instructional strategies, and current developments in Physics education.
• Keep abreast of developments in Cambridge curriculum requirements, assessment methods, examination standards, and teaching practices.
• Attend professional development programs, training sessions, workshops, meetings, and other activities required by the school.
• Continuously improve teaching skills, classroom strategies, assessment practices, and subject knowledge.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, committees, and other duties assigned by school management.
• Perform other teaching and academic responsibilities as assigned by the school.
