Ace Alloy Wheel Repair is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Operator to join its automotive repair workshop in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating workshop machinery and equipment, assisting with alloy wheel repair and related production activities, monitoring work quality, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The role requires attention to detail, practical skills, and the ability to follow operating procedures and workplace safety standards.
OPERATOR
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Operator in an automotive workshop, manufacturing facility, or industrial environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating machinery, workshop equipment, and hand or power tools.
- Basic understanding of mechanical processes, equipment operation, and workplace procedures.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Good attention to detail when inspecting components and checking work quality.
- Ability to recognize equipment abnormalities and report operational problems.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and safe equipment handling.
- Willingness to learn workshop processes and follow training provided by the employer.
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on operational duties.
- Reliable, responsible, hardworking, and committed to maintaining quality standards.
- Willingness to follow company policies, work instructions, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Operate workshop machinery, tools, and equipment used in alloy wheel repair and related automotive processes.
- Follow operating instructions, work procedures, and safety guidelines when using machinery and equipment.
- Prepare alloy wheels, components, and materials for assigned repair or processing tasks.
- Inspect workpieces before processing to identify visible damage, defects, or irregularities.
- Load, position, secure, and remove components from machines safely and correctly.
- Monitor machine operation and ensure equipment performs according to established procedures.
- Adjust machine settings within authorized operating limits and report technical issues when necessary.
- Assist with alloy wheel preparation, cleaning, surface treatment, and finishing activities as assigned.
- Check processed components for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Identify defective products, unusual machine performance, or production issues and report them to the supervisor.
- Follow production schedules and complete assigned tasks within required timeframes.
- Handle materials, tools, and finished components carefully to prevent damage.
- Maintain proper records of assigned work, production output, and equipment issues when required.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic operator maintenance of machines and workstations.
- Report equipment faults, breakdowns, and safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workshop environment.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Coordinate with mechanics, fitters, vehicle painters, and other workshop personnel to support efficient operations.
- Minimize material waste and use workshop supplies responsibly.
- Perform other operational and workshop duties assigned by management.
