Philippine School Bahrain is hiring a Maintenance Superintendent for deployment to Bahrain. The position is responsible for overseeing building maintenance operations, supervising maintenance personnel, and ensuring that school facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Maintenance Superintendent

Qualifications:

• Preferably a graduate of Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
• Professional license is not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of well-rounded experience in building maintenance and facility management.
• Strong background in multiple building trades including:
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Air-conditioning and HVAC systems
  • Electrical maintenance
  • Painting and finishing works
• Experience in supervising maintenance personnel and contractors.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ability to inspect facilities and identify repair requirements.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards and building maintenance procedures.
• Computer literacy and report preparation skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of school buildings, facilities, and equipment.
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Monitor the condition of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, carpentry, and painting systems.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and recommend necessary repairs or improvements.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers when required.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with safety standards and regulations.
• Prepare maintenance schedules, reports, and work plans.
• Monitor maintenance inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and operational issues.
• Ensure school facilities remain safe, clean, and functional for students, staff, and visitors.
• Assist management in planning facility upgrades, renovations, and maintenance budgets.

The Philippine School Bahrain (PSB) was established in 1994 through the initiative and cooperative efforts of 27 Filipinos who became its founders. The school provides pre-elementary, elementary and secondary education to Filipino children in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It uses the Philippine curriculum to facilitate the smooth integration of home-bound children in the mainstream of Philippine education system. Upon the approval of the Ministry of Education, and with three rented villas at the Kanoo Gardens, it formally opened its doors to Filipino students on 26 August 1995.
