JUNIOR UNDERWRITER

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in underwriting, credit assessment, lending, financial services, or fintech.
• Experience in the Australian financial services or lending market is highly preferred.
• Experience assessing SME and business loan applications in accordance with lending policies and risk guidelines.
• Ability to analyze applicants’ financial information, credit profiles, and supporting documentation to determine lending eligibility and potential risks.
• Demonstrated ability to process a high volume of loan applications accurately and efficiently.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment in making underwriting recommendations.
• Ability to recognize potential credit risks and escalate complex or high-risk applications when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Assess SME and business loan applications in accordance with company lending policies, procedures, and risk guidelines.
• Analyze applicants’ financial information, credit profiles, and supporting documents to evaluate creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
• Identify potential financial risks, inconsistencies, and other factors that may affect lending eligibility.
• Process a high volume of loan applications accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Prepare sound underwriting recommendations based on financial analysis, credit assessment, and established lending criteria.
• Escalate complex, unusual, or high-risk applications to the appropriate team or senior underwriter when necessary.
• Maintain accurate application records and ensure compliance with internal underwriting procedures.
