Kimaya Fiji is seeking a skilled Japanese Chef with extensive experience in authentic Japanese cuisine. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing a wide range of Japanese dishes, including sushi, while ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety.

JAPANESE CHEF

Qualifications:

• Certification or Diploma in Cookery, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience as a Japanese Chef or in a similar role.
• Proficient in preparing a wide range of authentic Japanese dishes, including sushi.
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and passion for Japanese cuisine.
• Ability to work efficiently in a professional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook authentic Japanese dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure consistent portion size, presentation, and taste for all dishes.
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards in the kitchen.
• Manage ingredients, monitor stock levels, and ensure minimal wastage.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on Japanese culinary techniques.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine Japanese menu offerings.
