HSE Officer
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of HSE/HSW experience.
- Possess valid HSE certifications.
- IOSH and/or NEBOSH certification is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with safety inspections, incident reporting, and corrective action procedures.
- Ability to conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and HSE awareness activities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safe working conditions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify workplace hazards and recommend practical safety measures.
- Responsible, proactive, organized, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, contractors, and management.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and potential risks.
- Recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions for identified HSE issues.
- Assist in conducting risk assessments and reviewing safe work procedures.
- Monitor compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company HSE standards.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and other HSE awareness activities.
- Promote safe working practices and encourage employees to comply with required safety procedures.
- Ensure employees properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences.
- Assist in preparing incident reports and recommending appropriate corrective measures.
- Maintain accurate HSE inspection records, reports, checklists, and documentation.
- Monitor housekeeping, worksite conditions, emergency access, and general workplace safety.
- Assist in emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, and response procedures.
- Monitor the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Support environmental protection and waste management practices in the workplace.
- Coordinate with supervisors and employees to address safety concerns and resolve HSE issues.
- Assist management in ensuring compliance with applicable HSE requirements and company standards.
- Participate in HSE meetings and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Monitor contractors and workers to ensure compliance with site safety requirements where applicable.
- Perform other health, safety, and environmental duties assigned by management.
