Middle East Maritime Repair (MEMR) is seeking highly experienced Electronic Technicians to support marine electronic equipment maintenance operations in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing marine electronic, navigation, and communication systems to ensure reliable and safe operation.
ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in marine electronic equipment maintenance.
- Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting marine electronic systems.
- Experience with navigation and communication systems used in marine environments.
- Practical experience with radar systems.
- Experience with VHF radio communication systems.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting gyroscopic and magnetic compass systems.
- Strong knowledge of electronic equipment inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Ability to use electronic testing and diagnostic instruments effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in marine, shipyard, offshore, or other demanding industrial environments.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with other technical personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on marine electronic equipment and systems.
- Inspect electronic equipment and identify faults, damage, deterioration, or performance issues.
- Troubleshoot electronic circuits, components, instruments, and marine electronic systems.
- Maintain and repair marine navigation and communication systems.
- Inspect, test, and maintain radar systems and associated electronic components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot VHF radio communication systems and related equipment.
- Inspect and maintain marine compass systems, including gyroscopic and magnetic compasses.
- Conduct functional tests and diagnostic checks to verify proper equipment operation.
- Use appropriate electronic testing instruments and diagnostic equipment to locate faults.
- Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Identify defective electronic components and perform repairs or replacements as required.
- Assist with installation, adjustment, calibration, testing, and commissioning of marine electronic equipment.
- Ensure navigation and communication equipment remains operational and within required performance specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance in accordance with approved schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions.
- Report equipment failures, recurring faults, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
- Follow established maintenance procedures and technical instructions when working on electronic systems.
- Coordinate with electrical technicians, engineers, marine personnel, supervisors, and other technical staff during maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of electronic components, tools, instruments, and spare parts.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area during electronic maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond to electronic equipment breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements as assigned.
- Perform other marine electronic maintenance and technical duties assigned by the supervisor.
