Cashier

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer service role.
  • Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Hospitality/Tourism Management or a related field.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in using POS systems.
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures, payment processing, and basic inventory practices.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle transactions responsibly.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Scan items, weigh produce, and accurately enter product prices into the POS system.
  • Process cash, credit/debit card, and mobile payment transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Receive payments, provide correct change, and issue receipts to customers.
  • Greet customers professionally, provide assistance, answer product-related inquiries, and address concerns or complaints.
  • Operate and maintain the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring accurate transaction processing.
  • Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift and report any discrepancies.
  • Apply coupons, promotions, and discounts according to company procedures.
  • Process returns, exchanges, and other transaction adjustments as required.
  • Verify customer eligibility for restricted products in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Bag customer purchases, maintain cleanliness of the checkout counter, and assist with stocking duties when needed.
  • Follow company standards for customer service, cash handling, and workplace safety.
