Franklin Smith Limited is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and support automated equipment, material handling systems, and industrial machinery. The successful candidate will use their technical knowledge in automation, electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure reliable and efficient equipment operation.
Candidates with hands-on experience in automated systems, conveyors, material handling equipment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and industrial control systems are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of SCADA, MFC, or WES is an additional advantage.
Automation Technician
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in equipment maintenance, automation, or material handling systems.
- Degree or Diploma in Electromechanical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering, depending on the role.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with automated systems, conveyors, or material handling equipment is an advantage.
- Experience with SCADA, MFC, WES, or similar control software is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good English communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment faults and breakdowns.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and equipment reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated equipment and systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and automation-related faults.
- Inspect automated machinery and material handling systems to identify potential problems.
- Repair, replace, and adjust defective components and equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated systems, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and modification of automated equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot control systems and automation equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment faults, repairs, and inspections.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and technical maintenance standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives involving automation and equipment efficiency.
