Job Location: Qatar
Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic (Paint Workshop) to support aircraft component rectification and paint workshop activities in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and required quality standards. The successful candidate should have practical workshop skills, the ability to operate relevant equipment and tooling, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and timely completion of assigned tasks in accordance with QCAA/EASA Part-145 requirements.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering (Aviation/Aeronautics/Astronautics) or similar fields.
- Sufficient technical and practical skills within the relevant work area.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar workshop within a recognized airline is required as an applicable experience pathway.
- Experience in an aircraft maintenance, component repair, paint workshop, or similar aviation environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of aircraft component preparation, rectification, painting, refinishing, and finishing processes.
- Ability to operate relevant workshop equipment, tools, and tooling safely and effectively.
- Ability to interpret technical information, work instructions, and documentation relating to assigned workshop activities.
- Ability to follow approved aircraft maintenance procedures and quality requirements.
- Understanding of QCAA/EASA Part-145 requirements and the importance of maintaining airworthiness and quality standards.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when preparing and inspecting aircraft component surfaces and finishes.
- Ability to identify paint defects, surface imperfections, and other quality issues and perform or assist with appropriate rectification.
- Ability to work efficiently and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills when working with mechanics, inspectors, supervisors, and other department personnel.
- Strong commitment to company health and safety policies and aviation safety procedures.
- Ability to properly handle workshop materials, tools, equipment, paints, coatings, and related substances.
- Reliable, disciplined, responsible, and quality-conscious.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned paint workshop and aircraft component rectification tasks within the required timeframe and quality standards.
- Carry out assigned activities to provide satisfactory service to internal and external customers.
- Prepare aircraft components and surfaces for painting, refinishing, and rectification activities as required.
- Operate equipment, tools, and tooling relevant to the paint workshop and assigned work area.
- Use workshop equipment safely and efficiently to meet established task completion targets.
- Perform surface preparation activities such as cleaning, sanding, masking, and other approved preparation procedures.
- Assist with the application, repair, and finishing of coatings and paint on aircraft components according to approved procedures.
- Ensure painted and rectified components meet specified appearance, finish, and quality requirements.
- Inspect completed work and identify defects, imperfections, contamination, or other issues requiring correction.
- Carry out rectification and rework activities as instructed and within approved procedures.
- Interpret technical information, work instructions, and other documentation required for normal workshop activities.
- Follow approved maintenance instructions and technical procedures when working on aircraft components.
- Ensure aircraft component rectifications are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with QCAA/EASA Part-145 requirements.
- Maintain required quality standards and ensure completed work is properly documented.
- Check and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure they remain suitable for safe and continuous operation.
- Report defective tools, equipment problems, material issues, or technical concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation associated with assigned tasks.
- Follow company health and safety policies, workshop procedures, and applicable aviation safety requirements.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe handling procedures for paints, coatings, solvents, and workshop materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the completion of assigned tasks.
- Coordinate with supervisors, mechanics, inspectors, and other workshop personnel to ensure smooth completion of work.
- Communicate work progress, technical concerns, and completion status as required.
- Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
