Qatar Airways Q.C.S.C. (Ground) is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic (Machine Shop) to perform precision machining, component fabrication, repair, and related machine shop activities within an aircraft maintenance, MRO, or aircraft parts manufacturing environment. The successful candidate should be capable of operating CNC and conventional machine tools, interpreting aircraft maintenance documentation and technical drawings, and following airworthiness, manufacturing, quality, and safety requirements.

Aircraft Mechanic (Machine Shop)

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Airline Transport; Engineering (Aviation/Aeronautics/Astronautics) or similar fields.
• Must possess recognized aeronautical / technical training certificates.
• Proven experience operating CNC milling, CNC lathe, and vertical drilling machines.
• Experience in an aircraft maintenance environment, MRO, or aircraft parts manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge and practical experience using drilling, boring, and honing machines, including appropriate tooling and fixtures.
• Knowledge of standard machine shop tooling is mandatory.
• Ability to carry out manual CNC machine programming.
• Basic understanding of Siemens NX software.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Structure Repair Manuals (SRMs), technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
• Understanding of aircraft component repair and fabrication requirements.
• Ability to follow approved airworthiness instructions and technical procedures to ensure compliance.
• Good understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixtures, cutting operations, and precision component fabrication.
• Ability to accurately measure and inspect machined components against specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision, quality, and airworthiness.
• Ability to follow manufacturing instructions, safety procedures, and machine operating requirements.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to machining operations and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with aircraft maintenance and engineering teams.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality control, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and vertical drilling machines in an aircraft maintenance, MRO, or aircraft parts manufacturing environment.
• Perform precision machining and fabrication of aircraft components and parts according to approved requirements and technical specifications.
• Operate drilling, boring, and honing machines using appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings.
• Select and use standard machine shop tooling, cutting tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment appropriately.
• Set up and adjust CNC and conventional machines according to machining requirements and component specifications.
• Carry out manual programming of CNC machines for required machining operations.
• Apply basic knowledge of Siemens NX software in support of machining and component manufacturing activities.
• Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Structure Repair Manuals (SRMs), technical drawings, and other approved documentation.
• Review maintenance and manufacturing instructions to determine component repair, modification, or fabrication requirements.
• Measure and inspect machined components to verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and conformity with approved specifications.
• Use appropriate precision measuring instruments and machine shop inspection tools.
• Perform drilling, boring, honing, milling, turning, and other machining operations as required.
• Prepare, position, and securely hold components using appropriate fixtures and tooling.
• Follow approved machining sequences, work instructions, and manufacturing requirements.
• Identify machining defects, dimensional discrepancies, tooling problems, or machine abnormalities and take appropriate corrective action within assigned responsibilities.
• Perform basic machine cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and routine maintenance as required.
• Ensure all machining and component repair activities comply with applicable airworthiness instructions and approved technical requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of machining, fabrication, inspection, repair, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper identification and traceability of aircraft components, materials, tools, and completed work.
• Follow all safety and operating instructions specified in manufacturing and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop environment.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow machine safety procedures.
• Coordinate with aircraft maintenance personnel, engineers, inspectors, and other machine shop personnel regarding component repair and fabrication requirements.
• Report technical issues, equipment problems, quality concerns, and work discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
• Complete assigned machining and component repair work accurately and within required schedules.
• Perform other aircraft machine shop, machining, fabrication, and maintenance duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
