Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic (Heat Exchanger) to perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft component maintenance, with a specialized focus on B777/B787 air-conditioning pack heat exchangers. The successful candidate will ensure all maintenance activities meet approved procedures, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and operational deadlines while using appropriate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Aircraft Mechanic (Heat Exchanger)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Airline Transport, Engineering (Aviation/Aeronautics/Astronautics), or similar fields.
- Experience on B777/B787 heat exchangers is required.
- Must have at least one company authorization covering either B777 or B787 Air-conditioning Pack Heat Exchangers.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft component maintenance fundamentals and procedures.
- Knowledge of aircraft component inspection, maintenance, rectification, servicing, and release procedures.
- Practical experience working with air-conditioning pack heat exchangers and related aircraft components.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance equipment, including proper operation, handling, and care.
- Ability to select and use the correct tools and equipment for scheduled and unscheduled component maintenance.
- Ability to interpret maintenance instructions, technical documentation, and applicable procedures.
- Understanding of aviation quality, safety, airworthiness, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to identify technical problems that may affect maintenance progress and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ability to work independently while exercising applicable maintenance and certification authorization privileges responsibly.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and allocate work to assigned staff.
- Ability to manage work priorities and resources to meet component completion and release deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills when coordinating with Engineers, Supervisors, mechanics, inspectors, and other technical personnel.
- Strong commitment to safe working practices and proper operation of aircraft maintenance equipment.
- Reliable, disciplined, technically competent, and capable of working effectively in a professional aircraft component maintenance environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on aircraft components, particularly B777 and B787 heat exchangers.
- Complete assigned aircraft component maintenance tasks in accordance with approved policies, procedures, technical instructions, and quality standards.
- Certify completed scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks within the scope of applicable authorization privileges.
- Exercise authorized certification privileges responsibly to support operational requirements and component release deadlines.
- Inspect heat exchangers and related aircraft components for damage, defects, wear, contamination, or other discrepancies.
- Perform maintenance, inspection, rectification, servicing, and other approved component maintenance activities as assigned.
- Ensure all completed maintenance work meets the required quality, safety, and airworthiness standards.
- Use correct tools, equipment, and test equipment for scheduled and unscheduled aircraft component maintenance.
- Operate maintenance equipment correctly and safely in accordance with applicable instruction manuals and approved procedures.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly handled, maintained, and used only for their intended purpose.
- Follow all applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, maintenance procedures, and safety precautions.
- Review technical documentation and maintenance instructions before commencing assigned work.
- Identify impending work-related problems that may affect work progression, component completion, or release deadlines.
- Immediately advise the Engineer in Charge of technical or operational problems that may impact maintenance activities.
- Apply technical expertise and practical knowledge to identify appropriate solutions to work-related problems within the approved scope of responsibility.
- Establish work priorities for staff allocated to the assigned maintenance activities.
- Coordinate and distribute tasks effectively to ensure efficient use of available manpower, tools, equipment, and other resources.
- Monitor work progress and ensure assigned maintenance tasks are completed within established timeframes.
- Ensure component maintenance activities are properly documented and completed records meet applicable requirements.
- Support efficient component release by ensuring maintenance tasks are completed, inspected, and certified as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout maintenance operations.
- Ensure effective housekeeping and proper storage and handling of aircraft components, tools, and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with Engineers, Supervisors, mechanics, inspectors, and other technical personnel.
- Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.

- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
