Qatar Airways is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Mechanic (Fluid Analysis) to perform laboratory testing and analysis of aircraft hydraulic fluids, oils, and related samples. The successful candidate will operate specialized laboratory equipment, interpret aircraft maintenance data, support component repair activities, and ensure all testing and maintenance work complies with applicable ISO 17025 quality requirements, manufacturer instructions, airworthiness requirements, and aviation maintenance standards.
Aircraft Mechanic (Fluid Analysis)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Airline Transport, Engineering (Aviation/Aeronautics/Astronautics), or similar fields.
- Basic ICAO Type II License and trade-related certificates are required.
- At least 1 year of practical experience in the technical field within a similar work area.
- Trade-related reinforcement training is required.
- Sufficient technical and practical skills within the relevant work area, or 1 year of experience in a similar workshop within a recognized airline.
- Practical knowledge of aircraft hydraulic and oil sample analysis is an advantage.
- Ability to operate ICP, particle counter, titration equipment, and other laboratory testing instruments used for aircraft fluid analysis.
- Thorough understanding of ISO 17025 laboratory quality requirements.
- Ability to follow manufacturer instructions for laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.
- Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, technical specifications, maintenance instructions, and approved maintenance data.
- Knowledge of aircraft fluid contamination, particle analysis, oil condition monitoring, and related maintenance requirements.
- Ability to accurately document laboratory results and maintain proper sample and testing records.
- Ability to identify abnormal test results and communicate technical findings to appropriate personnel.
- Understanding of airworthiness requirements and the importance of compliance with approved aircraft maintenance procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality when performing laboratory testing and technical maintenance activities.
- Ability to safely handle aircraft fluids, oils, chemicals, samples, laboratory equipment, and related materials.
- Good communication and teamwork skills when coordinating with mechanics, engineers, inspectors, and laboratory personnel.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while maintaining required productivity and quality standards.
- Reliable, disciplined, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining aviation quality and airworthiness standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate laboratory testing equipment used for the analysis of aircraft hydraulic and oil samples.
- Perform fluid analysis using Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) equipment, particle counters, titration equipment, and other relevant laboratory instruments.
- Prepare aircraft hydraulic fluid and oil samples for testing in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
- Conduct accurate testing and analysis while following approved testing methods and quality control requirements.
- Record, review, and maintain accurate laboratory test results and related technical documentation.
- Interpret test results and identify abnormal readings, contamination, wear particles, or other conditions requiring further investigation.
- Report unusual or out-of-limit test results to the appropriate technical personnel for evaluation and corrective action.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in proper operating condition and report equipment defects or malfunctions.
- Follow equipment operating instructions and safety procedures specified by the manufacturer.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with applicable ISO 17025 quality requirements.
- Follow established laboratory quality procedures, testing protocols, calibration requirements, and documentation practices.
- Comply with all applicable safety precautions when handling aircraft fluids, oils, chemicals, laboratory equipment, and samples.
- Interpret aircraft maintenance instructions, technical data, manuals, and specifications relevant to assigned activities.
- Use approved maintenance data to determine appropriate procedures for testing, troubleshooting, repair, or replacement activities.
- Assist in the repair or rectification of malfunctioning or damaged components within the authorized scope of work.
- Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and technical specifications to determine the feasibility and appropriate method of repairing or replacing components.
- Follow applicable airworthiness instructions and technical requirements to ensure continued compliance.
- Ensure all assigned maintenance and fluid analysis activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain proper identification, handling, storage, and traceability of aircraft fluid samples.
- Ensure laboratory tools, instruments, and equipment are properly handled, cleaned, and stored after use.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and work area.
- Coordinate with aircraft mechanics, engineers, inspectors, and other technical personnel regarding fluid analysis results and maintenance requirements.
- Complete assigned tasks within established procedures and required timeframes.
- Comply with company health and safety policies and all applicable aviation maintenance requirements.
- Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.

- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
