Job Location: Qatar
Qatar Airways is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Mechanic (Calibration) to support calibration, maintenance, inspection, and rectification activities involving aircraft maintenance equipment, tools, and related components. The successful candidate will be expected to complete assigned tasks efficiently, operate calibration equipment and tooling safely, maintain required quality standards, and comply with QCAA/EASA Part-145 requirements and company health and safety policies.
Aircraft Mechanic (Calibration)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Airline Transport, Engineering (Aviation/Aeronautics/Astronautics), or similar fields.
- Sufficient technical and practical skills within the relevant calibration or aircraft maintenance work area.
- Alternatively, candidates with 1 year of experience in a similar workshop within a recognized airline may be considered based on the required work-area skills.
- Experience in aircraft maintenance, aviation workshops, calibration facilities, or aircraft component maintenance is an advantage.
- Knowledge of calibration procedures, measurement tools, inspection equipment, and equipment traceability.
- Ability to operate calibration equipment and related tooling safely and accurately.
- Ability to interpret technical information, work instructions, specifications, and calibration-related documentation.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when performing measurements, inspections, and calibration activities.
- Ability to identify equipment discrepancies and report or assist with appropriate corrective action.
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance and component rectification requirements, including QCAA/EASA Part-145 standards.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks under normal conditions while meeting established productivity standards.
- Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, safety, and compliance with approved procedures.
- Good organizational, communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
- Reliable, disciplined, responsible, and capable of completing assigned work within required timeframes.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned calibration and aircraft maintenance-related tasks within established procedures and required timeframes.
- Provide satisfactory service to customers by completing assigned work accurately, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
- Perform calibration-related activities on tools, equipment, measuring instruments, and other items within the assigned work area.
- Operate calibration equipment, tools, and related workshop equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow approved procedures, technical instructions, calibration requirements, and established work processes.
- Interpret technical information, work instructions, specifications, and other documentation required for normal calibration activities.
- Conduct inspections and checks to verify the accuracy and serviceability of tools and measuring equipment.
- Identify calibration discrepancies, equipment defects, measurement errors, or other issues and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with the rectification, adjustment, repair, or replacement of equipment and components as required within the approved scope of work.
- Ensure aircraft component rectifications and related technical activities are accomplished in a timely manner and in accordance with defined QCAA/EASA Part-145 requirements.
- Maintain accurate calibration records, inspection results, certificates, labels, and other required documentation.
- Ensure calibrated equipment is properly identified, labeled, recorded, and controlled in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Maintain traceability and proper documentation of calibration activities and equipment status.
- Check calibration equipment and tooling regularly and report any defective or malfunctioning items.
- Maintain work areas, tools, equipment, and calibration facilities in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition.
- Meet established productivity standards and time-frame objectives for assigned tasks.
- Work predominantly without supervision under normal operating conditions while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Ensure assigned tasks are completed within the framework of approved procedures and established timeframes.
- Comply fully with company health and safety policies and applicable aviation safety procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe working practices when handling tools and equipment.
- Coordinate with mechanics, inspectors, supervisors, and other technical personnel when calibration or rectification activities require support.
- Communicate equipment discrepancies, technical concerns, work progress, and task completion status as required.
- Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
