Welder/Fitter
Qualifications:
- High school/courses related to welding/training/certification in the FCAW welding process.
- Types of welding are FCAW and GMAW; experience with FCAW is important.
- Experience with shipyard welding or big structural welding.
- Experience in the marine industry is a very big plus.
- Experience on offshore drilling rigs.
- Capability to read blueprints and interpret necessary welding procedures.
- Ability to perform all the positions in welding (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, 6G).
- Vocational diploma in welding or assembly or relevant work experience;
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and outdoors;
- Ability to read blueprints and work as part of a team.
- 80% ship welding, 20% shop welding.
- A great asset is experience on offshore drilling rigs.
- A driver’s license is an advantage.
- Good communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints and interpret necessary welding procedures;
- Work with blueprints, cut material and make fixtures;
- Perform welding according to FCAW and GMAW procedures;
- Perform various tasks surrounding the welder’s work or as required by the project in hand;
- Participate in and support activities set out in the health, safety and environment management system.
- The workers could be asked to worked at another location – as all Québec workers. If so, relocation assistance will be provided.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
