Fiberglass Boat Building Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• Experience in fiberglass work, boat building, or composite manufacturing
• Knowledge of resin systems and curing processes
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or technical specifications
• Skilled in using hand tools, grinders, sanders, and spray equipment
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Physical stamina and ability to work in demanding environments
• Basic math skills for measurements and material mixing
• Awareness of safety practices (PPE, ventilation, chemical handling)

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated experience preparing and maintaining fibreglass boat moulds
• Proficiency in gel coat spraying, finishing, and repair
• Solid experience with fibreglass lay-up techniques in moulds
• Ability to complete interior and mechanical fit-out to a professional finish
• Strong self-management skills — able to work through a project with minimal supervision
• Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
• Experience with marine woodworking and joinery
• Background in general boat and vessel repair
• Familiarity with basic marine systems (plumbing, bilge, hatches)
