UT TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Male applicants are preferred
• Minimum of 2 years work experience
• Shall be able to set up and calibrate NDT equipment, to conduct tests, to interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with procedures approved by an NDT Level III.
• Should be familiar with the scope and limitations of the method he is certified.
• Should organize and report NDT test results. Should have knowledge of international codes.
• Computer skills, and English is must.

Responsibilities:

• Performs non-destructive testing (NDT) using ultrasonic waves to inspect materials and structures for flaws and defects.
• They utilize specialized equipment to send sound waves into materials and analyze the reflected signals to identify issues like cracks, corrosion, or material thickness variations.
• Setting up and calibrating equipment: This includes ensuring the ultrasonic testing equipment is properly configured and functioning before each inspection.
• Performing ultrasonic testing: Utilizing transducers to send ultrasonic waves into materials and analyzing the returning signals to detect flaws or measure material properties.
• Interpreting and evaluating results: Analyzing the ultrasonic data to identify defects and determine if they meet acceptance criteria.
• Documenting findings: Preparing detailed reports on the inspection results, including any defects found and their locations.
• Maintaining equipment: Ensuring the ultrasonic testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to ensure accurate results.
• Following safety procedures: Adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines during inspections.
• Communicating findings: Effectively communicating inspection results to relevant parties, such as engineers or quality control personnel.
• Proficiency in using ultrasonic testing equipment, interpreting data, and understanding relevant codes and standards.
• Analytical skills: The ability to analyze data, identify inconsistencies, and draw conclusions based on the inspection results.
• Attention to detail: A meticulous approach to detecting flaws and ensuring accurate documentation.
• Problem-solving skills: The ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and find solutions to unique testing challenges.
• Communication skills: The ability to effectively communicate findings to others.
