Heavy Equipment Electrician

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or Vocational diploma
• Certification as a heavy electrician
• Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment electrician
• Understanding of computer testing technologies.
• Ability to lift heavy machinery.
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
• Ability to work after-hours if required.
• Good communication skills

Responsibilities:

•  Installing new heavy equipment vehicle wiring systems.
• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the heavy equipment’s and other related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned
• Ensure maximum operational availability of heavy equipment by diagnostic work and repair methods
• Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults
• Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures
• Ensure that all preventive maintenance (electrical) is conducted as defined in the system
• Attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Construction Engineers on immediate basis
• Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity
• Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment.
• Trace fault, diagnose (troubleshot) and repair all electrical faults in the heavy plants, machineries and trucks
• Check if in need of repair or replace of STARTER Motor, Alternator, Harness and Electrical Wiring of heavy equipment
• General electrical fault
