Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Graduate Degree with an additional diploma in Operational Research or Logistics Management
• 4-6 years experience in operations management/ fleet utilization/maintenance of a reputed organization in the trucking business.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to plan, organize and control all vehicle maintenance activities with either FSC or external agencies to ensure that all trucks and equipment are maintained as per MDR standards.
• Inspects trucks / equipment to determine which require maintenance and coordinates their subsequent transportation to the maintenance workshop.
• Adheres to procedures, standards and guidelines, as established by the Manager – Fleet Utilization, for the scheduling / ordering of maintenance and repair of fleet.
• Plans, organizes and controls all maintenance work for MTR to ensure that trucks and equipment are maintained to the required standards of quality and availability.
• Monitors the maintenance budget to ensure that all costs are kept within the agreed limits.
• Plans a preventive maintenance schedule and ensures that all necessary maintenance is carried out at the appropriate time.
• Ensures preventative maintenance schedules of trucks are adhered to and minimizes delays.
• Coordinates with the maintenance workshop to ensure that maintenance of MTR trucks are carried out as per MTR standards and on time.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all trucks and equipment and identifies and resolves any issues relating to maintenance procedures, trucks or equipment.
• Reviews all working practice, procedures and equipment to ensure that they are the most efficient and effective available.
• Allocates trucks to drivers to ensure efficiency and effective resource utilisation.
• Ensures that the fleet inventory assistants are competent as well as trained adequately.
