JOINERY FINISHER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years work experience
• Knows how to use a range of equipment from traditional tools to state-of-the-art computerized cutting equipment and hi-tech drawing and design software

Responsibilities:

• Fabricates, assembles, installs, or repairs wooden elements according to blueprints, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments:
• Lays out, cuts, assembles, and installs wooden parts, such as skirting architraves, doors, windows, casement sash windows, door frames and the safe working of woodworking machinery.
• Fabricates, assembles, and installs desks, chairs, and cabinets, using woodworking machinery, such as jigsaws, planers, jointers, mortisers, and tenoners.
• Installs hardware and gaskets, using hand tools.
• Shapes irregular parts to fit and joins matched grain wood, such as oak, mahogany, and teak.
• Understanding technical drawings and how your work will fit within the building
• Creating design drawings, alongside sketches of the work needed and the specifications
