FIRE TRUCK DRIVER OPERATOR

Qualifications:

  • At least five years experience in fire/rescue services including 2 years as driver/operator at an airport
  • Must have DRIVERS LICENSE CODE C ( Commercial Trucks ) Open to Vocational Graduates and UP

Responsibilities:

  • Responds to aircraft emergencies, structural fires, and other emergencies.
  • Perform rescue operations, using equipment such as breathing apparatus, entry tools, blowers, protective clothing, and ladders to gain access to accident victims
  • Evaluates injuries, treats when possible, and removes victim to safe locations.
  • Regularly checks all mechanical, hydraulic, and powered entry tools for proper operation.
  • Maintains protective clothing, boots, and gloves in a safe and usable conditionļ¼Œ
  • Maintains breathing apparatus in an operational condition by recharging air canisters and replacing filters after each use.
  • Replenishes water and agent tanks.
  • Starts each vehicle daily; checks for proper operation of engine, transmission, drive train, pumps and hydraulic systems.
  • Checks fuels, oil and water levels, and pressures and takes corrective actions if necessary.
  • Lubricates hose connectors, reels, turrets, valves, and other moving parts.
  • Reports vehicle and/or equipment operational discrepancies to his crew chief
  • Preforms regular duties to maintain Station and fire trucks in a clean and orderly condition.
