HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER
Qualifications:
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Shipyard or experience in a similar industry.
- Effective communication and networking skills with confidence, good team worker, and computer literate.
- Logical reasoning with a pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude
- An understanding of current legislation
- Willing to take the IELTS Language Certificate requirement for UK Visa process
Job Description:
- Support Operations through development, embedding and promotion of health, safety and environmental standards.
- Implement and maintain Company HSE policies, procedures, standards and working practices and enhance the safety culture within the business; ensuring a focus towards zero accidents and injury.
- To ensure the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and supporting procedures are implemented consistently across the Company.
- To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policies and practices, make recommendations and amend as required and in line with any legislative updates.
- To advise on the implications of current and emerging health and safety legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the Company.
- Develop and deliver in-house training with supervisors and employees on all relevant aspects of health and safety.
- To ensure the HSE function provide the required expertise to all areas of the business, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- To work within all business areas to ensure HSE standards are appropriately implemented within their areas of control and are sufficiently robust for anticipated demands.
- To provide input for regular HSE communications for all levels of staff to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefs.
