PROCUREMENT ENGINEERS

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing, preferably in an engineering or construction environment.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical specifications, and materials/equipment sourcing.
• Proficiency in procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms).
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in procurement and supply chain management.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing the procurement process for engineering projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for project execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and other relevant teams to understand project requirements and procurement needs.
• Analyze technical specifications, drawings, and project plans to identify required materials, equipment, and services.
• Identify potential suppliers/vendors capable of meeting project requirements.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, including quality standards, production capacity, and delivery capabilities.
• Conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
• Develop procurement strategies and plans based on project timelines, budget constraints, and quality requirements.
• Determine appropriate procurement methods (e.g., RFQ, RFP, tendering) and selection criteria for supplier evaluation.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Prepare and review procurement contracts, purchase orders, and other documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any deviations from contract terms or quality standards.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and efficiency.
• Manage procurement budgets and expenditures to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering, negotiation, and alternative sourcing strategy
• Ensure that procured materials, equipment, and services meet quality specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with quality assurance/quality control teams to conduct inspections and quality assessments as needed.
