Stellar Recruitment (NZ) Limited is seeking a skilled Drainage Operator to perform maintenance and cleaning of drainage systems using high-pressure water jetting equipment. The successful candidate will ensure proper flow, prevent blockages, and respond to emergencies to protect public infrastructure and property.

DRAINAGE OPERATOR

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of relevant work experience in drainage, sewer maintenance, or similar field
• Verifiable work experience and documentation required
• Ability to operate high-pressure water jetting equipment safely
• Knowledge of drainage systems, pumps, and related infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Physically capable of performing demanding manual tasks
• Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and cleaning of pipes, sewers, and drainage systems using high-pressure water jetting equipment
• Clear blockages, silt, and debris to ensure proper drainage flow
• Monitor pumping stations, culverts, and drains to prevent overflow or flooding
• Respond to burst water mains, redirect water flow, and minimize damage
• Conduct inspections and report any issues with drainage infrastructure
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition
