Senior Pet Groomer

Qualifications:

• Professional certifications in grooming is required.
• Formal training is required.
• Pet CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Proven professional grooming experience.
• Sound understanding of animal behavior.
• Strong attention to detail.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability to treat all animals with compassion.
• The ability to lift all pets, tools and equipment.
• Able to meet daily grooming/bathing requirements.
• Good communication skills.
• Great personality and ability to work with customers.
• Good customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising/ training, and developing all other grooming staff as required by the organization to ensure smooth work flow.
• Professionally perform grooming services of pets as requested by customers and in accordance with company policy and procedure, ensuring the safety and well-being of each animal.
• Greet clients and pets and take instructions for grooming them per the client’s wishes in a professional manner.
• Groom pets as advised & guided as per company policy and procedure.
• Clean and freshen pet hair by washing, shampooing, conditioning, and drying the pet.
• Shave, trim, and style pet hair according to the preferences of pet owners’ or standard grooming styles.
• Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.
• Adding bows and nail polish for long or curly haired breeds such as poodles and shi tzus.
• Provide exemplary cosmetic care for pets, being gentle and patient with anxious and difficult animals.
• Guide trainees/groomers and others as required and requested by head/organization.
• Administer grooming all while ensuring safety and compassion for animal.
• Highlight abnormalities of pets to the customers to avoid unnecessary conflicts or misunderstanding with guidance of supervisor.
• To ensure cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment & tools used and cleaning and cleanliness of work and grooming area.
• Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
  Maintaining pets hygienic and physical appearance as per customers’ needs.
• Schedule, book, and verify appointments to fulfill the customer
  needs. Keep inventory of grooming products such as shampoo and soap.
  Able to treat animals with utmost care.
• Upsell pet care products.
• Reporting any incidents immediately to the concerns officially. Not to have any
  conversation directly with the pet owner unless it`s required.
  Taking grooming`s tools out of the premises is not allowed.
• To use the washing machine /drying and cleaning equipments as required in the work premises.
• Showing any aggressiveness towards the pets is not acceptable and prohibited.
• Assists in events or as needed and required by the organization.
• Assisting or replacing others as needed.
• Ability to work varied schedule and timings as per scheduled shifts and requirements.
• Adhere to all company’s policies, processes and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
