Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
- Formal training through a vocational program or apprenticeship.
- At least 3 years of experience in the Shipbuilding/Shipyard Industry.
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work with different metals and alloys.
- The ability to handle and maneuver metal parts, as the job can involve physical labor and working in various positions.
Responsibilities:
- Involves using Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) techniques to join metal parts by reading blueprints, preparing surfaces, operating welding equipment, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Setting up welding machines, selecting appropriate materials and gases, performing precision welds, and inspecting the final product for defects.
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to plan and execute welding operations.
- Cutting and preparing metal surfaces for welding to ensure proper adhesion and a strong joint.
- Setting up and operating MIG welding machines, including selecting the correct gas type, wire feed speed, and voltage.
- Performing precise welding operations to join metal parts or fill seams, creating functional and high-quality metal products.
- Inspecting welded joints and finished products to ensure they meet technical standards, specifications, and quality control criteria.
- Adhering to all safety guidelines, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a safe work environment to prevent hazards such as electrical shock or burns.
- Performing routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition.

Requirements:
