Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience
  • Relevant professional training or certifications (minimum Level 2 — Heavy Equipment Mechanic)
  • Experience working on international mining projects or with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) authorized service teams is an advantage
  • High-level English proficiency, both written and spoken
  • Ability to provide clear, simple training and instructions to local staff
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Responsible, hardworking, and open communicator
  • Physically and mentally prepared to work in challenging underground mining conditions
  • Willingness to work on a roster basis at mine sites
  • Physically and psychologically fit for continuous work in harsh conditions
  • Strong commitment to following Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
  • Specialized training or certification on SANY, Manitou, and Atlas Copco equipment – preferrable
  • Experience developing maintenance plans and writing technical reports

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, attend on breakdowns and technical services for underground Ancillary mining equipment.
  • Provide training and guidance to operators and the internal maintenance team.
  • Develop improvement recommendations to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and develop repair plans.
  • Equipment to be serviced: Manitou telehandlers and Material handling machines,
  • Terex Franna cranes, Perkins engines and Deutz engines, SANY excavators and road machinery, & Atlas Copco compressors and other Ancillary equipment
