Hostess

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a host/hostess in a fine dining or upscale environment is preferred
• Pleasant personality with excellent communication skills
• Proficient in English; additional language is an advantage
• Knowledge of reservation and POS systems is a plus
• Professional grooming and customer-focused attitude

Responsibilities:

• Assist in quarterly, bi-annual, and annual inventories of operating equipment.
• Perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional, friendly, courteous, and professional guest service.
• Greet and seat guests according to the established performance standards of the outlet.
• Take and manage reservations and table assignments as prescribed.
• Follow all telephone etiquette, using the guest’s name and standard greetings.
• Wish guests a proper farewell as they leave the restaurant.
• Handle guest and internal customer complaints/inquiries courteously and efficiently, following up to ensure satisfactory resolution.
• Be familiar with all food and beverage items on the outlet menu.
• Utilize the outlet’s point-of-sales and table assignment system.
• Meet special requests from guests for specific table assignments or needs.
• Maintain the entrance area and hostess station clean and orderly.
• Maintain the restaurant’s guest history system.
• Work supportively and flexibly with other team members and departments.
• Handle all equipment and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce waste.
• Maintain punctuality, proper grooming, and professional appearance.
• Understand and comply with hotel policies, especially related to hygiene, health, fire safety, and local legislation.
• Be flexible in your role and accept redeployment to other areas or departments as needed.
• Attend training sessions and meetings when required.
