Junior VRF Technician (variable refrigerant flow)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a focus on VRF system installation and maintenance
• Knowledge of VRF system components, refrigeration principles, and basic control sequences
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
• Proficient in using basic HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment, with a willingness to learn advanced techniques
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures and protocols
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with senior technicians and other team members
• EPA Universal refrigerant handling certification is required
• VRF manufacturer-specific training or certifications are preferred

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new VRF systems, including refrigerant piping, electrical wiring, and control system integration.
• Perform routine maintenance on VRF systems, such as cleaning indoor and outdoor units, checking refrigerant levels, and replacing air filters.
• Collaborate with senior VRF technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot minor system issues, using basic diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Document all VRF system work, including installation details, maintenance records, and performance data
• Ensure VRF systems are operating efficiently and provide feedback to senior technicians on system performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
• Participate in ongoing training to expand knowledge of VRF technologies, control systems, and industry regulations.
• Provide support to facility managers and other stakeholders as needed, assisting with VRF system inquiries and service requests.
