TOOLROOM TECHNICIAN

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in CNC vertical milling machine and knowledge in CNC programming.
• Skill in machining parts using conventional milling machine and lathe.
• Basic skill in operating surface grinder.
• Knowledge in plastic injection moulds, mould maintenance, and trouble shooting.
• Ready to acquire training in injection mould loading/unloading, machine setup, and machine maintenance.
• Perform all day-to-day tool room activities.
• Knowledge of metal polishing and ability to achieve mirror finish polish using various polishing techniques.
• (Optional but preferred) Knowledge in setting plastic injection moulding machines.
• (Optional but preferred) Knowledge in hot runner injection systems including manifolds, gate actuation, electrical testing; remove and rewire heaters and thermocouples.
• (Optional but preferred) Knowledge in operating wire cutting EDM and spark eroding EDM

Responsibilities

• Perform all day-to-day tool room activities such as fabricating parts using: conventional milling, CNC milling, turning using Lathe, wire cutting, spark eroding EDM, welding, amongst others.
• Repair and maintenance of workshop equipment.
• Disassemble, clean, repair, maintain, and reassemble injection moulds.
• Reporting and logging: – Workshop job report – Mould maintenance report – Log maintenance and repairs of workshop equipment – Submit all reports and logs on time and/or according to schedule
• Ensure workshop area is kept tidy and free from obstacles.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures including safety requirements, attendance, etc.
