Marine Engineer

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience working on board marine vessels, preferably as a Marine Engineer.
• Experience with engine room operations, maintenance, and repairs is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or related field like Mechanical Engineering with focus on marine applications.
• Proven track record of leadership, problem-solving under pressure, and experience overseeing all aspects of engine room operations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with specific types of machinery, propulsion systems, and fuel types can be an advantage depending on the desired career path.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and specifications.
• Oversee the installation of marine equipment, systems, and components.
• Install and maintain propulsion systems, including engines, propellers, and thrusters.
• Install, and maintain electrical power generation and distribution systems onboard vessels.
• Ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems.
• Develop and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in various marine applications, such as steering, lifting, and cargo handling.
• Stay abreast of industry regulations, classification society rules, and international maritime standards.
