ACOUNTING SPECIALIST

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or relevant certifications preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross- functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to integrity, ethics, and confidentiality in handling financial information.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process accounts payable invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and ensure timely payment of bills. Generate customer invoices, track accounts receivable balances, and follow up on overdue payments.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, including recording journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, and analyzing account balances. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide management with insights into the company’s financial performance. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance
• Expense Management: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Monitor and analyze expense trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend process improvements.
• Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax returns. Stay current on tax laws and regulations, and collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely compliance.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation, responding to inquiries, and addressing audit findings. Maintain audit trails and documentation to ensure accountability and transparency.
• Financial Systems Administration: Utilize accounting software and other financial systems to perform daily tasks, reconcile accounts, and generate reports. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance system efficiency.
• Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, such as process improvements, system implementations, and financial analysis projects.
